Riverfront Rent a CarPolicies
The short version, in plain language. The full rental agreement is presented at checkout and you accept it before paying.
Who can drive
Renters must be at least 21 and hold a valid licence held for two years or more. Additional drivers are welcome but must be declared and licensed; an undeclared driver is not covered.
Deposit and payment
A 10% reservation deposit is charged when we approve your request, applied to the total. The remaining balance is due one day before pick-up. A refundable security hold is placed on the payment card at pick-up and released after the car is returned.
Cancellation and changes
Cancellation terms are shown in plain language at checkout and repeated in your confirmation email, and they are the terms that apply to your booking. If your plans move and the car is free, we will move the dates rather than charge for them. Ask us before you cancel — it is usually the cheaper answer.
Insurance and damage
Coverage options are presented during checkout, before payment, together with the deductible that applies. If you are relying on your own policy or a credit-card benefit, tell us before pick-up so we can confirm what documentation we need.
Fuel, charging and cleaning
Cars leave with a full tank or full charge and should come back the same way. If they do not, refuelling or recharging is billed at cost plus a convenience fee. Smoking, vaping, and pets without a cover incur a cleaning fee. Heavy cleaning or excessive sand and dirt is billed at the posted rate.
Tolls, tickets and travel
Tolls and parking are the renter's responsibility. Traffic citations are passed through with the administrative fee the law allows. Travel anywhere in the United States is included. Canada is not available today: our coverage is voided if the car crosses the border, so a cross-border trip would leave you driving uninsured. We are working on a cross-border option and will say so here when it is real.
Return and late returns
Return the car by the agreed time. If you are running late, message us — a short grace period is usually fine, an unannounced late return may carry a charge. Return it to the agreed location with the key and any charging cable.
